Director of Arizona College Access Network Position Opening

AzCAN is currently looking for a Director for the Network. This is a grant funded position and will remain open untill filled.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of and experience with college access programs and and/or college and career counseling at K-12 level; knowledge of, experience with, or willingness to learn coalition building strategies; ability to conceptualize, design and support  professional development opportunities; ability to evaluate, identify of areas for improvement, and initiate necessary changes in processes and operations; knowledge of or experience with IT/software products that will support and assist membership in full utilization of interactive website; and a willingness to learn state processes, operations, and activities.  Experience with grants and grant reporting desirable.  Baccalaureate required.

This position reports to the Executive Director of the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education and relates to policy makers as well as college access professionals.

11th Annual Pathways to Postsecondary Education Awards
Presented by the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education

The Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (ACPE) wants to recognize successful college access programs that prepare, encourage and transition students into postsecondary education with a 2013 Pathways to Postsecondary Education Award.

For over 10 years, the Pathways to Postsecondary Education Awards presented by the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (ACPE) have recognized successful college access programs across the State that assist students and families as they prepare for, transition to or succeed in postsecondary education. The awards are meant not only to honor the outstanding programs, but to recognize the good work being done in college access with the hope the work being done can be replicated to assist other students to succeed in postsecondary education.

You may nominate a program using the brief nomination form. Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged. Entries must be submitted to the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education (ACPE) no later than Friday, August 2, 2013. Entries will be accepted for the following categories:

      • K-12 sponsored
      • Higher Education sponsored
      • Community - Based sponsored
      • Business sponsored

Award winners will be selected by a group of college access leaders and recognized Friday morning, November 22, 2013 at an award ceremony breakfast on the second day of the Developing Human Capital Conference at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Phoenix. Awards will be presented by an Arizona State legislator(s).

Winners of the 2011 Pathways to Postsecondary Education Awards include:

      • Amberlea is College Bound
      • Tuba City High School Education Program
      • 2NAU
      • JAG – Middle & High School College and Career Preparation Program
      • Single Mom – On the Road and in College
